Application of Conventional and Non-Conventional Extraction Methods to Obtain Functional Ingredients from Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) Tissues and By-Products

چکیده

In recent years, researchers in the pharmaceutical and food areas focused on finding best ways to take advantage of functional ingredients present jackfruit tissues by-products such as phenolics pectin. Many these studies adding value decreasing their negative environmental impact. However, type, quantity, characteristics are highly dependent extraction method, either through conventional or non-conventional technologies, tissue used, with peel seeds being most studied. The reported suggest that extractions pre-treatments emerging technologies ultrasounds, microwaves, radio frequency, supercritical fluids can facilitate release jackfruit; reduce time energy consumption required; and, some cases, improve yields. Therefore, could increase potential its by-products, promising applications nutraceutical industries.
